Yummy. Large dark rich red mouth watering berry that is just delicious. A cross between boysenberry/loganberries. Thornless and a heavy cropper. Self-fertile. Pick fresh from the vine. Harvest when fruit turns dark red and are easy to remove. December-January. Deciduous.

As a bramble this plant forms a great screen and can be cut back the following winter. Trademarked under this name.

Yum! With white flowers in Spring they are followed by large, firm, conical dark red/black berries that taste like the old fashion Boysenberry and are sweet and juicy. Vigorous growing and has thornless canes. A heavy cropper high in antioxidants and vitamins. Deciduous.

Self fertile and pollinated by insects and bees.

aka Blackberry

A highly rated American cultivar with sturdy canes with few thorns. The large luscious berries ripen around January. The berries are very juicy with a tart yet sweet flavour. For best results plant in sun or part shade in deep acid soil. Deciduous.

Blackberries fruit on 2nd year wood. It is usual to cut back the cane that has finished fruiting and then train a 1 year old new cane in preparation for fruiting the following season. Suitable for planting in most areas of NZ.

Blueberry Northern Highbush. An early ripening mild, sweet flavoured berry. Foliage turns yellow-orange in Autumn. This Mandarin is very popular in Queensland where it was discovered as a chance seedling in 1888. The virtually thorn-less tree produces large fruit with a thin easy peel skin. Ripens around July. If left on the tree you will notice the skin gets 'puffy'. Evergreen.

Citrus. The fruit rounded, orange in colour, and shaped like mini oval oranges that ripen from late summer. Will look lovely in a pot or container on the deck or planted in the garden as a specimen. Both Flesh and skins are edible but not to everyone's liking. Evergreen.

The Passionfruit vine has attractive mauve and white flowers that turn into yummy round dark purple fruit at the end of summer. To do well your vine must be in a sunny, sheltered, well-drained position. Though self-fertile will often do better when 2 are planted together. Evergreen.

Cultivated for over 6,000 years for delicious edible pine 'nuts'. The first cones which hold about 50 'nuts' will appear in approx. 6-10yrs. In the meantime you have a tree with a nice thick trunk topped off with a spreading umbrella of grey/green needles. Makes a great potted Xmas tree. Evergreen.

A delicious fruiting shrub that hails from Brazil. That tells you it will like a nice warm sheltered spot in the garden. White flowers in spring followed by sweet and tangy red fruit that ripen from about April. Glossy green foliage. Likes good drainage and protection from harsh frost. Evergreen.

Your Guava will need frost protection when young but will eventually harden to light frosts. The fruit are ready when they are fully coloured and slightly soft to the touch. Do not prune in spring as you will cut off the fruiting flowers that appear on the current seasons branches (wood).

One of summers great delights, great in home gardens. With rose type leaves, simple small white flowers followed by sweet delicate very large fruit ripening in summer with good flavour and firmness. Plant against a fence where support is given. Frost tolerant. Deciduous.

This divine raspberry grows as a bramble on upright canes. Covered in rose like leaves, simple small white flowers are followed by luscious sweet delicate golden fruit. Easily removed from vine when ripe. Vigorous. Self fertile. Harvest Dec to April, Main (2nd) crop Feb to March.

Raspberry Ivory TM s of red raspberries and except for fruit colour have all the characteristics of red raspberries.

Tulameen Raspberries are a widely grown commercial variety that also does exceptionally well in a domestic fruit garden, producing heavy crops of large berries. These are bright and glossy and have an excellent flavour. Upright semi thornless canes. Deciduous.

Unlike Regular Canes, Long Cane plants must NOT be cut back after planting. The canes should be left intact as supplied. They will then develop fruit-bearing side shoots at the top of each cane which will flower and produce fruit for picking in the first season after planting at the same time as new growth (next year's fruiting wood) is thrown up from the root stock. N.B. In subsequent seasons, treat as Regular Canes.

Waiau is one of the early ripening Raspberries so if you're looking for a start of the season treat this could be for you. Raspberries are one of summer's great delights and are an ideal home garden plant for most temperate areas of New Zealand. They are easy to grow and very rewarding.

aka Rhubarb

A tall, vigorous variety with very decorative leaves that are a dense green. Its long stems are bright red in Winter and Summer. Young stems can be eaten raw if its to your liking otherwise stewed and made into crumbles, muffins or pies. Lovely to have in the kitchen garden or large barrel planter.

Remember - Don`t eat the leaves.

A newer variety that has compact growth with highly decorative dense blue-green leaves.Short, thick and juicy stems that are bright ruby redat the base fading to green at the top. Great for jams and crumbles. Plant in the sun in well drained soil. Winter dormant in cool areas.

aka Orangeberry

Evergreen prostrate ground cover that has very ornamental deeply veined foliage and single white flowers. Sometimes the flowers are followed by red raspberry like fruits. Very vigorous and ideal for covering up difficult spots. Happiest in full sun.

aka Tree Tomato

Sumptuous large golden fruit that are lovely and sweet (not as tart as the red ones) Small Harvest any time from April to September, dependant on regular picking and when you prune. Prefers well drained, sheltered site in full sun. Semi-evergreen.

Your Tamarillo will appreciate a nice layer of mulch around the drip line - take care not to place against the trunk. Tamarillo's are not particularly long-lived so probably best to replace your tree every 3-4 years.

This sub-tropical fruit is closely related to the ordinary tomato and therefore needs to be grown in a frost-free position. Tamarillos also like shelter from wind, good drainage and a fairly light soil. Produces red-bronze fruit that have an acid free sweet taste. Semi-evergreen.
